Megan Bickford is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a passion for empowering clients to find positive solutions and enhance their overall well-being and quality of life.
Megan embarked on her career while pursuing her undergraduate degree at Wheelock College. Her initial experiences included working with at-risk and homeless youth in Boston, where she engaged in street outreach, visited homeless shelters, and worked on the free medical van at Bridge Over Troubled Waters. She earned a master's degree in social work from Boston College. During this period, Megan completed internships at Massachusetts General Hospital's pediatric inpatient unit and The Department of Children and Families.
After obtaining her MSW, Megan dedicated eight years to working at an outpatient dialysis clinic. In this role, she provided supportive counseling for patients with chronic illnesses and their families. During this time, she also supervised other social workers pursuing their LICSW. Megan also spent time as an Intensive Care Coordinator, both supervising other ICC’s and providing high quality Wraparound Care services.
In her work at MWCWB since 2015, Megan utilizes an eclectic, gentle, compassionate, and collaborative approach to care. She tailors her services to each client, recognizing that no two individuals are alike. Evidence-based practices, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness, are core components of her sessions. Her ultimate goal is to empower clients, guiding them toward positive solutions and an improved quality of life.
